Rich Log Cabin

Originally built in 1797 by Thomas and Mary Ann Rich, this log cabin now resides on the museum property. It was found inside of a home on Rich Rd. and was moved with community help to the museum in 1996.

For its small size, the cabin housed 12 people at one time, showcasing the ingenuity of early settlers.

A sepia-toned photograph of ten people, including children and adults, gathered in front of a wooden house with trees surrounding it. Some are sitting, some standing, with one person holding a small animal, possibly a dog or a pig. The scene appears to be from the late 19th or early 20th century.
